June 05 (WTN) - More weight loss as the requirement can be considered as healthy, on which researchers claimed that this could reduce the thickness, texture and strength of the elderly bones. According to one study, the magnitude of change in the skeleton was clinically significant and the risk of fracture increased by almost three times in those 40 years of age, people who lost five percent or more. Long-term and recent weight loss in the elderly was found to be associated with lower cortical density and thickness, more cortical porosity and lower density and number.

Douglas P. Kiel, chief researcher of the Hebrew Senior Life Institute for Aging Research of the American, said, "We found in our research that men and women who lost weight during the short period of four to six years and losing weight after 40 years of age the lack of subtle texture was noticed in men and women.

While this kind of inadequacy, has not been seen in those who do not lose weight. "This study has been published in the ‘journal of Bone and Mineral Research’, in which 595 males and 796 females were of average age of 70. Recent changes came in six years to know the change weighing every four to six years was measured and for a longer period, measurements were taken after 40 years of age.
