June 04 (WTN) - Due to the long use of digital media such as computers, mobile, dry eye syndrome has become a very common problem these days. In fact, if the eyes do not get complete moisture for long period then there is a problem like scabies and water coming in them. This is called 'dry eye syndrome'. Due to changes in hormones, the problem is more in 'women'.
Symptoms of dryness:
- Redness of eyes
- Mistiness
- Trouble when opening eyes in lights
- Trouble with air or dry eyes
- Itching in the eyes or itchy eyes
- Watery eyes
- Eye fatigue or tiredness in the eyes

These are the reasons for the problems:
- Too many uses of digital devices
- Reading too much books
- Constantly being in AC
- To stay or work in a more dry environment
- Wear continuous contact lenses
- Some medications such as birth control pills, allergy medicines, beta blockers, diuretics
- Eating food that does not contain fatty acids
- No tears making glands
- LASIK Surgery
Deal with this problem -
- Blink your eyes in every 5 seconds while watching a computer, mobile, TV or tablet.
- Do not rub the eyes, it can harm the eyes.
- If you are having problems with eating or medication, consult a doctor about it.
- To maintain moisture in the eyes, use good brands of lubricating drops.
- Keep contact lenses clean and do not wear them forever.
- Try not to have direct air on the eyes.
- Eat healthy food, eat more whole grains, fruits and vegetables and less sugar.
- Do not put any medicine in the eye without the doctor's advice.
- Finish an eye-drop in a month after opening it. Do not use when the month passes.
- Wear glasses during more swimming and try not to get water in the eyes.
- If possible, do not put collyrium (Kajal) in the eyes.
