On the occasion of World Diabetic Day, November 14, 2017, People’s Hospital and NGO Srijan Jankalyan Shiksha Seva Samiti with windowtonews.com jointly organised Diabetes clinics, in particular on-spot investigation and treatment for the person with diabetes was conducted. Handouts mentioning symptoms of Diabetics and Do’s and Don’ts for Diabetics patients, were also distributed to all the patients.
There was a fair response for the camp. Some of the people took the test for diabetics, later were identified with Type 2 diabetics. These patients were surprised to know that they had diabetes and were thankful for the camp.

Mr Ashok Permar, a Tailor by profession said, "I came here along with my mother as she is suffering from viral fever, meantime I vaguely had thought to take up my diabetic test as after reading your hand out as few of the symptoms I was experiencing. Now I am surprised as I have tested positive for type2 diabetics."

According to International Diabetic Federation India, there were 69.1 million cases of diabetes in India in 2015.
