Indian sportswomen keeping India’s flag high in CWG 2018
As of Day 5, the 2018 Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia, India has 8 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze and stands third in medal tally after Australia and England.
Women have done exceedingly well in the event.
Indian women’s table tennis team of Manika Batra, Mouma Das, Madhurika Patkar got an historic victory over Singapore and winning the gold. It was only the second table tennis team gold for India at the Games with the men achieving the feat in the 2006 Melbourne, Australia.
Manu Bhaker , 16 year old sensation form India shattered Commonwealth Games record with a total of 240.9 in Women's 10m Air Rifle to bring home the gold medal.
Weightlifters Punam Yadav, Sanjita Chanu, Mirabai Chanu won golds women's 69 kg, 53kg and 48 kg respectively.

Mehuli Ghosh and Heena Sidhu won silver in the 10m women's air rifle event and 10m women's air pistol respectively and Apurvi Chandela won bronze in the 10m women's air rifle event.
