​A five-day All India Civil Services Basketball Competition kicked off yesterday in the State Capital.

A five-day All India Civil Services Basketball Competition kicked off yesterday in the city, at Tatya Tope stadium.  From Dwan to Dusk, under the competition, a total of 13 matches were played. Twenty teams of different provinces are participating in the tournaments which will continue for the next five days.

 

Madhya Pradesh's started with a winning kick.   In the first match played under the All India Civil Services Basketball Tournament, Madhya Pradesh defeated Uttar Pradesh Secretariat by a margin of 40-32 points.
 

Madhya Pradesh's team was ahead of 25-21 points by halftime. Players of Madhya Pradesh team performed brilliantly by winning the team with 8 points. Madhya Pradesh's player Pawan Mishra topped the tally with 11 points, Ajay Ghosre 8 and Damodar Arya contributed 6 points. It is notable that in Madhya Pradesh, the team has been runners-up four times in the past, during All India Civil Services Basketball Championships.
 

In the second match, Central Secretariat defeated Kerala Secretary by a distance of 86-52.

 In the game between Haryana and Maharashtra, Haryana defeated Maharashtra by a margin of 78-48. 

Similarly, Tamil Nadu defeated Telangana 53-18, and Delhi 65-51, Rajasthan defeated Pandukheri by a margin of 56-24.
