It's not rainy season. However, many can feel raindrops over the face full of dirt and pollution in Delhi and its, all due to the artificial rain the NCR Delhi Govt is showering off as an attempt to fight smog. Apart from many another measure, the Nation capital is implementing much more, including the four-time parking fee hike, ban on the entry of trucks and construction works, after directions issued by the Environment Pollution Control Authority. The air quality in Delhi-NCR region improved to ‘poor’ category from ‘very poor'.
The Question is how to fight it permanent??
The United Kingdom witnessed biggest hit of smog in the year 1952 when 12000 Londoners died of it, "the peasouper smog."
In Delhi the transportation is the dominant smog fueler, the individual car ownership has doubled roughly in the numbers in past decade with the increase in population and per capita income. Availing cheap, efficient and quick public transport, opting pedestrian & promotion to take bicycling for the shorter distance, the introduction of congestion charges, are few of the critical schemes if, taken up by individuals as well if, implemented by a government can prove out to be beneficial with immediate effects.
Whereas in the long term one of the rescues is creating more green zone and forest area, which can cause rains, as less of rain is the primary cause of smog building. Before the terrible change in climate start to show its true colours, the city should opt for actions to fight climatic change in coming times.High grey building and skyscrapers can look green, with the help of Vertical forests, the concept and brainchild of " Stefano Boeri", who is coming up with many vertical forest project in China and other Europian counties.
One of the towers - Vertical Forest Milan, Italy
The two plant covered towers standing tall giving back to nature which urbanization is taking away with innovation. The towers are called the vertical forest - Bosco vertical.
Similar projects which are now trending and in demand in Europe as people are getting more aware of climate change and remedies to encounter it. The architect has undertaken and carried out many projects, transformation and reuse of several locations like Doha, Moscow, Beijing, Sao Paulo, and many in dozens. The innovative implementation of gardens over the rooftops, plant-covered buildings, and innovative greenhouses are need of changing time in Delhi too.
Stefano Boeri's latest project at Milan "Bosco towers", the residential building contributes to complete structure of receiving and exchange in the flora and fauna as it absorbs CO2 and dust particles and produces oxygen, the area as microclimate. The vertical forest is also a habitat for the variety of birds, butterflies, insects, and pets. The project is in effect and was completed in the year 2014 by #project Vertical Forest by Stefano Boeri, Location: #Milan, #Italy. - Window To News
