Bihar Fodder Scam: Court convicted Lalu Prasad Yadav, sentence on 3rd January

Jail is the only “Chara” (Option) for Lalu as CBI special court convicted Bihar Ex CM and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav along with 15 other accused in the fodder scam “Chara Ghotala” of Bihar, at the same time 7 other acquitted including Jagannatah Mishra, ex Bihar CM. The court will pronounce the sentence on January 3, 2018. Hearing on the Devghar Treasury case was going on since 1996.
Brief summary of the case:
Lalu is accused of his involvement in scandal of Rs. 900 crores of rupees manipulation. During the period of 1991 to 1994, Rs. 89,04,413 was withdrawn from illegal tenant from the Deoghar treasury by 6 fake allotment letters. Whereas Bihar government sanctioned only 4,07,000 rupees for the purchase of medicine and fodder.Hearing of this case is continuing from 1996.
In 1997, Lalu went to jail for the first time as he sentenced of the charged to get money wrongfully from Chaibasa Treasury. At the moment He had to lose the chief minister's chair. He is on bail now a day.
This is the second decision related to Lalu in the Rs 900 crore fodder scam. Lalu is accused in seven cases of fodder scam. In one case he has been sentenced to 6 years. Hearing continues in 5 other cases.
In his tenure as Bihar CM and finance minister, Lalu Prasad is accused of abusing the post and kept the file for the inquiry of the case from July 5, 1994 to February 1996. Then on February 2, 1996 he ordered a probe, but at that time the case of fodder scam had come out.
A total of 34 people were accused in the fodder scam. Of these, 11 people have died. At the same time, one accused confessed to the crime and became a government deponent. All convicts will be sentenced on 3 January. – Window To News
