Breaking News: Bhopal is Set to Host The 8th Edition of Theater Olympic in March
The most fabulous carnival of Theatre in the World is set to start from February 17 to April 08, 2018 across 15 cities in India. It is the immense proud moment that the 'City of Lakes", Bhopal is one of the fifteen participating towns. Bhopal will be hosting the biggest theatre carnival in the world in collaboration with National School Of Drama that would let the theatre lovers witness performances of globally acclaimed performers.
Earlier Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism has announced that the 8th edition of the most cosmos carnival of Theatre World will take place in India for the first time from February 17 – April 08, 2018 simultaneously in various cities across the country. Whereas the inauguration ceremony will be held in Delhi the closing ceremony will take place in Mumbai; Concurrently the shows will be held in various 15 cities across the country and Bhopal is one of them, the confirmation of which came from the Official Handle of the Department of Public Relations. The event will put Madhya Pradesh on the global map in the field of art and culture," said the principal secretary, culture, Manoj Shrivastava.

Mr Waman Kendre, Director, National School of Drama, said that development initiative that puts India firmly among the top nations in the world theatre map. The Theatre Olympics is the leading international theatre festival, presenting the most excellent productions of well-known theatre practitioners from around the world. The eight edition is set to stage 500 plays, and 700 ambience performances, including allied activities like exhibitions, seminars, symposia, interactive discussions and workshops. Well-known academicians, authors, actors, designers and directors and the leading luminaries of the world are set to take part.
The Theatre Olympic was established in the year 1993 in Delphi Greece with the objective to preserve the spirit of theatre. The theme was "Tragedy", Greece became the first country to host the first Olympics in the year 1995. Every edition is based on the specific theme. Japan sponsored the second edition, Shizuoka in 1999 with the theme "Creating Hope", for which the organisers created an art village in the industrial city 'Shizuoka", which was designed by the famous architect, Arata Isozaki.In the year 2001 Russia hold the gala taken over by Istanbul, Turkey and four years later, in the year 2010 South Korea's Seoul conducted then by China in the year 2014. In the year 2016, the seventh edition was held in the Wroclaw, Poland. India is all set to join this illustrious list as it plays host to the 8th edition of this Global Event.- Window To News
