The World Economic Forum’s 24th Annual Crystal Awards are honoured in mark to celebrate the achievements of leading artists who show exemplary commitment towards the improving state of the world. Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is the recipient of the World Economic Forum’s 24th Annual Crystal Awards in the row with Cate Blanchett and  Elton John and will be presented in a ceremony on the evening of 22 January.


For his leadership in espousing children and women’s rights in India. The actor has a long history of working with and supporting the victims of acid attacks which led to break the ice. Shahrukh Khan who had the privilege to witness the unparalleled courage and compassion that women are capable of, in his statement the actor said, " I have seen the transformative strength of goodness and the healing power of gentleness."

Srk has seen the shallow and the soaring side of the Indian cinema over the thirty years. Bollywood’s most prominent actors have been at the forefront of the Indian film and television industry. The actor is the  founder of NGO Meer Foundation, which provides support to female victims of acid attacks and significant burn injuries through medical treatment, legal aid, vocational training, rehabilitation and livelihood support.

The actor is also the founder of the specialised children’s hospital wards and has supported childcare centres with free boarding for children undergoing cancer treatment.- Window To News
