Grant of gratuity of over Rs 11 crore to 87 martyrs and 29 disabled servicemen

Special compassionate appointment to war widows/their dependants in10 cases 

Bhopal: State government has provided Rs 11 crore 6 lakh 60 thousand grant of gratuity to 87 martyrs and 29 disbaled servicemen from year 2004 till date in Madhya Pradesh. For the first time Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan implemented the provisions made in financial assistance and government service on officers of Army and Central Para-Military forces and Martyr/Disabled during the terrorist, Naxalite, internal security operation along with war and military operation in year 2013. Before this, relatives of martyrs in only war military operation were given Rs 10 lakhs.

Gratuity grant of Rs one crore 18 lakh 70 thousand has been given to 24 disabled servicemen and Rs 5 crore 90 lakh to dependants of 50 martyrs from the year 2004 till date during War/Military operation/Naxal attack/Terrorist attack/Internal security. Along with this gratuity grant of Rs 3 crore 69 lakh has been given to dependants of 37 martyrs of Central Armed Police Force an d Rs 28 lakh 90 thousand to 5 disabled servicemen. Pension amount till date has been approved and payment made to parents of martyrs in 17 cases.

Special compensatory appointments have been given to war widows/their dependents redressing total 10 cases since the year 2013.

 As per the announcement of the Chief Minister, ex-gratia of Rs one crore has been given to family of martyr Jagram Singh Tomar. In addition to this, the Chief Minister issued directives to frame policy for giving honorarium of Rs one crore to family of martyr. In this regard, policy is being framed as per the directives.

 It is noteworthy that provisions have been made to give cash assistance of Rs 10 lakh to family members of martyr soldiers in army action, Rs seven lakh in case of 70 percent disability to army officer, Rs five lakh in case of 50 percent disability and Rs 2.5 lakh for 25 percent disability and Rs 10,000 for marriage of daughters/sisters of martyr/disabled soldiers/army officers, government job on the post of class second/third/fourth grade as per the educational qualification to one dependent of martyr. Provision has been made to give assistance amount to paramilitary forces since November 2000.-Window To News
