Advancement of girls in education sector indicates bright future of country

Bhopal: President Ramnath Kovind said that girls are way ahead of boys in education sector. This situation is an indication of a bright future of the country. He said that girls have obtained remarkable achievement in other sectors also. On a discussion of cricket the President said that the country’s women’s cricket team has won the hearts of the people of the country. President Kovind was addressing the convocation ceremony of Jiwaji Uiversity, Gwalior on Sunday. He presented PhD title and gold medals to nearly 236 students of the University besides gold medals were presented to 26 students. Besides 120 students were given post graduate titles.

President Kovind said that he was feeling very joyful on seeing the students and professors in Indian attire. He said that if there is desire for education in students, there can be no obstruction. When women attain higher education, it is a matter of happiness because women have other family responsibilities also. The yearning for education in women is commendable. The President said that former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam pursued his education in adverse condition and reached the highest post of President of the country. This proves that he had the desire to study. He said that vidya dhan is the most powerful of all wealth.

Congratulating the students, their parents and professors for their special achievement, the President said that parents give the right direction to students. Society also plays a major role in this. He told students to keep the honour of the university also in mind and work accordingly. He said that ex students are also valuable treasures of the university. He said that about 2 lakh students are attaining education at the Jiwaji University. This proves that the university is a big centre of education. He said that the society’s outlook towards education is changing. Now parents are giving special attention to the education of girls also. Government is also running a campaign Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao’ for girls. It has also launched important schemes like Gaon ki Beti, Pratibha Kiran and Ladli Laxmi Yojana for the upliftment of girl child.

The President said that centres of education have some limitation despite their huge campus. That's why online education is convenient. Students can complete course while sitting at home. He said that effect of technology is increasing and human life is becoming easier. Our dependency on technology is increasing but this dependency should not be so much so that we become inefficient. He said difficult task even becomes easier due to resolution taken for completing them. He said that there is no end of getting education. This is the process going on throughout the life. That's why it should be used for betterment of the society.

 Governor Smt Anandiben Patel said that calender should be made for bringing quality in higher education. Also, examinations should be held on time and results should be announced on time. This will increase university's reputation. She said that students and youths have to play active role keeping the tricolour high on the world forums.

 The Governor said that students should have strong determination along with having honesty. We are now in the category of developing country. The country will now have to bring in the category of developed countries. She wished the students a bright future.

 Expressing pleasure over the convocation ceremony being held in Indian style, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the old traditions were the symbol of slavery. He said that students should use their knowledge in the interest of the society. Chouhan said that right person always live for others. That's why do something for the country and the society. He said that 'Satvik' worker is the one who is free from love and jealous and consider all equal, not having ego, have patience and full of enthusiasm. He told the students that they will get success certainly if they continue on their task with positive attitude.

 In the function, Governor of Haryana, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Union minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar, Urban Development Minister Smt Maya Singh, Higher Education Minister, Jay Bhan Singh Pavaiya, Vice Chancellor of the University Smt Sangeeta Shukla, students, parents, professors and dignitaries were present.-Window To News
