Construction of Country’s 3rd ‘Anda Cell’ begins at Bhopal jail
Jail Minister Arya inspects arrangements at Bhopal Jail 

Bhopal: Minister for Jail Antar Singh Arya inspected Bhopal Central Jail today. He made announcement towards increase in compensation amount (Pratikar) from Rs. 25 thousand to Rs. One lakh, being paid to the victim families. Arya said that this increase will come into effect from April 1, 2018. Moreover, he made an anouncement for an immunity of one month from the total sentence period of the prisoners with good conduct. He further informed that increase in the remuneration of prisoners and early release of prisoners, who have attained 65 years of age are taken into consideration. Additional Director General Jail, Sudhir Sahi and Deputy Inspector General Sanjay Pandey were present on the occasion.

Minister Arya also inspected the ‘Anda Cell’ being constructed at a cost of Rs. 3 crore 50 lakh at Bhopal Central jail. Hardcore criminals will be housed in this cell.The entire construction of the cell is being carried out by R.C.C., that will make the cell impenetrable. Prisoners will spend all their time in the cell. Minister Arya also inspected the double boundary walls of the jail and gave directives to complete the razor wire fencing at the earliest.

Moreover, Arya tastes food served to the prisoners in the jail and confirmed its quality. He also inspected arrangements of sewing and embroidery besides IT training for women prisoners. He gave instructions for good care of new born baby and her mother by visting women hospital in the jail. There are 126 women prisoners housed in the jail.

Arya also monitored security arrangements and prisoners’ condition from the control room. He was informed that 31 prisoners connected to Simi are imprisoned in the jail. A special vigilance is being maintained over them. He also saw the functioning of the commandos posted at the jail.

Minister Arya told the prisoners that programmes are being conducted for their mental peace through religious heads of all the communities. Derive benefit from it, do not commit such work after the release from the jail and make their life meaningful.-Window To News
