Over 300 wayside amenity centres to be developed

Madhya Pradesh first in the country to introduce wayside amenity centre policy
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country which has a wayside amenity centre policy. The ‘Wayside Amenity Centre Policy-2016’ has been implemented to facilitate tourists visiting the state.
According to Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism Surendra Patwa more than 300 wayside amenity centres are to be developed in a plan through private investors. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of the wayside amenity centre policy.
Implementation of Wayside Amenity Centres
Minister of State Patwa told that 52 new wayside amenity centres are ready in Brown Field Model and have been allotted to 31 private investors. Private investors have started running 17 of the centres already. An amount of Rs 11 crore premium has also been received through this allotment. About Rs 15 crore has been invested in the wayside amenity centres started by private investors and 200 persons have got employment through this. Patwa told that allotment to private investors of 13 wayside amenity centres is under process. By March 2018, 8 wayside amenity centres are to be allotted. Apart from this 13 wayside centre are selected on franchisee model. Online application and registration process for their allotment is in progress.-Window To News
