Amendment in Bhavantar Yojana to benefit garlic producing farmers

Benefit even on sale of garlic for less than Rs 1600 per quintal
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made amendment in the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana for the benefit of garlic farmers. Now if garlic is sold for less than Rs 1600, the farmer will still get the benefits of Bhavantar Yojana.
The Horticulture and Food Processing Department has issued instructions issued to the divisional commissioners of Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Gwalior, Sagar, Jabalpur, Rewa and the district collectors of Bhopal Sehore Raisen, Rajgarh, Indore, Dhar, Jhabua, Ujjain, Dewas, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Guna, Shivpuri , Sagar , Chhatarpur, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Rewa and Satna districts related to Bhavantar Yojana for garlic in connection with Bhavantar Yojana for the year 2018-19.
State government had issued instructions for Bhavantar Yojana for garlic crop for the year 2018-19 on April 9th, 2018. Accordingly the payable Bhavantar amount was fixed at maximum Rs 800 per quintal then. Had the garlic been sold for a price below Rs 1600, then considering its quality to be below standard, there was provision not to give benefit of Bhavantar Yojana. As per Chief Minister Chouhan’s directions this provision has been withdrawn in the interest of the farmers.-Window To News
