Drought affected farmers solomenizing Daughters’ marriage from home, eligible for MMV/NY

Bhopal: Benefit of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana, the ambitious scheme of the state government will be given to the farmers of the drought affected districts, for solemnizing marriages of their daughters from home. Informing about this, Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bhargava said that there is no compulsion for the farmers of the drought affected districts to solemnize marriage of their daughters in group marriage functions to get benefit of the scheme.

Principal Secretary of Social Justice and Disabled Persons Ashok Shah has informed that Ashoknagar, Damoh, Gwalior, Sagar, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh and Vidisha district were declared drought affected districts in the year 2017-18. This decision has been taken by the state government to help farmers of these districts to get their daughters married. He further mentioned that applications in this connection will be accepted in the offices of District Collector and Joint Director/Deputy Director of Social Justice and Disabled Persons Welfare Department.-Window To News
