Three hostels approved for disabled students

60 hostels being run for elementary education 

Bhopal: The School Education Department has approved hostels in Bhopal, Indore and Rewa in the first phase to facilitate study of disabled students in Middle and Higher Secondary Schools in the state. Hostels will be opened in other divisions of the state also in the coming year. As many as 60 hostels are being run in the state to provide primary education to disabled students. Last year more than one lakh 12 thousand disabled students were provided education facility from Class I to VIII in government and non-government schools obtaining grant. Nearly 3 thousand disabled students were provided hostel facility in academic session 2017-18.

Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country which has made separate arrangements for conducting examination for disabled students. One hour extra was given for examination to disabled students and provision was also made for making writers available for their assistance.-Window To News
