Will petrol and diesel price be increased after the Karanataka assembly election?

Saturday - May 12, 2018 12:38 pm , Category : WTN SPECIAL

The price of petrol and diesel has been remained unchanged.
MAY 12(WTN) - Since many days, the price of petrol and diesel is not being increased in India. It is being said that due to the Karnataka assembly elections, fuel prices have not been increased. But will the price of petrol and diesel be increased after the Karnataka assembly election? If this happens then price of petrol and diesel can be increased by up to one and a half rupees per liter. It might also be possible that the price of petrol and diesel will be increased up to 2 to 3 rupees per liter, but this is not looking possible due to public exasperation. So the price of petrol and diesel may be hiked by one and a half rupees per liter.

Price of petrol and diesel are being regulated every day in the country since for long time. But since April 24, the price of petrol and diesel has been remained unchanged; there is no increase or reduction in the price. The experts believe that this is because now the Karnataka assembly election is going on so the price of petrol and diesel is likely to be increased after the voting on May 12. In the past two weeks, petrol and diesel prices have been increased by two rupees per liter for oil companies and in the last few days, the rupee has also weakened against the dollar. But even after all this, oil companies have not raised the price of petrol and diesel, it is a big question in itself.

If this is a coincidence that the prices of petrol and diesel are not increasing at the time of Karnataka assembly elections, then it can be called policy matter. But if the price has not increased due to the Karnataka assembly election then it is imperative to raise question against the Modi government. Congress alleged that even though reduction in crude oil prices in the international market, but the Modi government did not reduce the price of petrol and diesel. In the Karnataka assembly election, Rahul Gandhi has accused the Modi government that even after the crude oil price was low in the international market, the Modi government has earned Rs 10 lakh crore through tax on oil from general public. If the price of petrol and diesel increases after voting in the Karnataka assembly elections, then Modi government will have to face many questions of the public and the opposition.
