Price hike of petrol and diesel creates a lot of questions!

Monday - May 14, 2018 2:48 pm , Category : WTN SPECIAL

Questions on oil price hike.
MAY 14(WTN) - As we said early, after the Karnataka assembly elections, prices of petrol and diesel may again increase. And that's exactly happened. After the voting ended in Karnataka for the assembly election on 12 May, from 6 a.m. onwards, on May 14, the petrol price hikes by 17 paise per liter and diesel 21 paise per liter. In Delhi, the price of one liter petrol in has increased from 73 rupees 63 paise to 74 rupees 80 paise. At the same time, the price of one liter diesel has increased from 65 rupees 93 paise to 66 rupees and 14 paise. In Mumbai, the price of one liter of petrol has increased 82 rupees 48 paise to 82 rupees 65 paise, in Kolkata, the price of petrol has increased from 77 rupees 32 paise to 77 rupees per 50 paise per liter. In Chennai, the price of petrol has increased from 77 rupees 43 paise to 77 rupees and 61 paise per liter.

After the Karnataka elections, increasing the prices of petrol and diesel, the Congress has targeted the central government. In his tweet, Congress leader P. Chidambaram said, “There we go again. More taxes on petrol and diesel, more burden on the consumer. The Karnataka election was only an interval.” Here, according to the feedback from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), “It is just a coincidence that the price of petrol and diesel could not increase during the Karnataka assembly election, not changing the prices of petrol and diesel from April 24 is the step taken for the purpose of stabilizing them”

But the clearance of the IOC is not looking acceptable by the opposition. Since the past few days, the prices of petrol and diesel were being reviewed every day, on this bases prices were being increased or decreased every day. But the price of petrol and diesel was not increased from several days, just before the Karnataka election, this creates a lot of questions. During this period, while the price of crude oil was being increased in the international market, but there was stability in the prices of petrol and diesel in India, it is natural to raise the questions. There is no response from the Central Government in this matter.
