IGRMS on the occasion of International Museum day organized a lecture

Bhopal: IGRMS on the occasion of International Museum day organized a lecture of Prof. Manvi Seth, Head, Department of Museology, National Museum Institute, New Delhi on "Hyperconnectivity in Museums: needs and challenges in Indian context". Speaking on the topic,  Prof. Manvi Seth reflected the role of the museum in a technologically driven world taking examples from various museums of India & abroad. She categorically told that technology is the only mean for connecting people in hyper connected world but what museums and museum professionals need is to explore the alternative ways for connecting visitors who perhaps still remained unconnected with various museums in the world. She gave multiple examples from National Museum Institute to focus on initiatives taken so for to explore challenges in 21st century. Her Lecture was widely applauded by the audience in the context of the celebration of the International Museum Day in IGRMS.

The lecture was chaired by Director IGRMS, Prof. S.K. Chaudhuri in which he expressed on the need of collaborative actives between IGRMS & National Institute New Delhi so that visitors need and desire can be understood properly. In the beginning Dilip Singh, Joint Director, IGRMS gave welcome address and introduced Prof. M. Seth

A book based on dying Tattoo traditions among tribes written by Basant Nirgune, Former Tagore scholar was also released on this occasion.-Window To News
