54,000 hectare irrigated area increases through 126 small irrigation schemes

Bhopal: Last year approval was given to 126 small irrigation schemes in the state. Through these schemes irrigation facility will be available in nearly 54 thousand hectare area.

Prime Minister’s Agriculture Irrigation Scheme has been implemented in all the districts of the state. The principle of Per Drop More Crop is being applied on irrigation. Government of India is getting water course and field channels constructed in the state. Out of the approved 23 projects, the Wainganga, Bagh and Kunwarchain Sagar projects have been completed. The construction of irrigation canals in the Command Kshetra has also been completed. Development works have been undertaken in 1.5 lakh hectare area in year 2017-18.
