Election commission reply with facts to Congress in its complaint related to disturbance in electoral rolls

JUNE 09 (WTN) - Congress has suffered a major setback by the election commission before the assembly election in Madhya Pradesh. The Congress party had accused in Madhya Pradesh on the issue of huge scale of chaos in voter lists, but the Congress's complaint has been incorrectly reported by the election commission after the investigation. It has been said in the report sent to the Congress party on behalf of the election commission that the investigation teams, formed on the basis of complaint, inspected the electoral rolls in four assembly constituencies of the state, which have not got any such thing as disturbance.

Let you know that the election commission conducted a detailed investigation of the electoral rolls in Narela, Hoshangabad, Bhojpur and Seoni Malwa constituency, which were reported in the complaint filed by Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath on June 3.

Out of these, no mention of voter names in any of the 82 lists of 17 polling stations in Seoni Malwa constituency was found to be mentioned more than once. While 2,442 names were found matching electoral rolls of 20 polling stations in this constituency. In its investigation, 2,397 names were found correct, while the process of removal of 45 names from voter list due to the death or transfer of an affiliated voter is underway.

Similarly, in the complaint of Narela assembly constituency, 17,684 of the 22,252 voters in the voter list were found to be unique. Of these 1,776 cases, the name of the voter and the name of his relative were only one. Of these, 153 cases were found correct in the investigation of 154 cases.

According to the report, the investigation team examined 552 cases mentioned in the complaint of Hoshangabad assembly constituency in which no single voter name was confirmed in the voter list several times. At the same time, names of 29 were found correct in the investigation of 36 cases of complaint in Bhojpur assembly constituency, while seven cases will be corrected under the process of correcting voter list.

On the basis of detailed investigations, the election commission said that the complaints of the names of the same voter in these four assembly constituencies have been registered in the voter list many times, is not right. The commission did not find the complaint of finding many voters of the same picture and found that it is not a matter of repeated mention in the list of the same voters, but it is merely a case of multiple use of the same photo, has been told to fix it.

On the complaint of fake voter list, the election commission said that the share of voters in Madhya Pradesh increased from 52.76 percent in 2008 to 61.45 percent in the year 2018. Therefore, voter lists have been updated based on demographic data. On this basis it can’t be considered as a matter of fake voter list.
