World Bank to give Rs. 204 crore for Government Colleges: Minister Pawayya

Bhopal: Minister for Higher Education Jaibhan Singh Pawayya has informed that the World Bank will provide an amount of Rs. 204 crore in the first phase for institutional development schemes of the selected 152 government colleges of the state. At an average an amount between Rs. 7 to 10 crore will be sanctioned for these selected colleges as per the requirement under the project. Pawayya further informed that MoUs will be signed between the Higher Education department and colleges under this World Bank aided project.

Moreover, Pawayya has informed that 40 colleges with 64 to 69 points have been included under the selected colleges. Previously, 112 colleges, which have obtained 70 and over 70 points were included in the Institutional Development Project (IDP). He further informed that 438 colleges were evaluated under the project. Fifty other colleges will be included in the second phase of the project, he added.

It may be mentioned that Government Sarojini Naidu Girls PG College, Gitanjali Government Girls PG College, Adarsh Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya, Institute for Excellence, Swami Vivekanand College-Bairasia, MLB Girls PG College, Hamidia PG College, Benazeer College, Government College Narela and Government Arts and Commerce College of Bhopal have been included in the first phase of the Institutional Development Project.-Window To News
