JUNE 14 (WTN) - Shikhar Dhawan, considered to be among the explosive batsmen of the Indian cricket team, has played a record innings in the Test match being played against Afghanistan at Bangalore. In this only Test match being played in Bengaluru, Shikhar Dhawan scored a hundred before lunch. Shikhar Dhawan scored 104 runs off 91 balls in the first session. Dhawan hit 19 boundaries and three sixes in his innings. With this innings, Shikhar Dhawan has become the sixth batsman of the world history and first Indian to score a century on the opening day of a Test before lunch.

Shikhar Dhawan has joined the great cricketer's club like Sir Don Bradman. The list includes Victor Trumper,Charlie Macartney, Don Bradman, Majid Khan from Pakistan and David Warner of Australia. Let you know that Australia's Victor Trumper (103 not out) was the first batsman to score a century in the first session of the first day of the Test match. After that, Australia's Charlie Macartney (112 not out) scored a century against England in 1926.

Sir Don Bradman (105 not out) was the third batsman to register his name in this list. He scored a century in the first session of the Test match against England in Leeds. Pakistan's Majid Khan (108 not out) was the first Asian batsman to score a century in first session before the first day of the Test match. He scored a century in the Karachi Test against New Zealand in 1976-77.

Subsequently, David Warner of Australia (100 not out) scored a century in the first session of the first day of the Sydney Test against Pakistan in 2016-17. Before Shikhar Dhawan, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was the highest scorer from india in the first session of day one of Test match, he scored 99 runs against the West Indies in St.Lucia in 2006.
