June 19 (WTN) - Negative experiences occurring in childhood such as illness or stress due to parental divorce in adolescence, there is rapid maturation in some parts of the brain. This information has been published in a new study.
It has been found in this study that due to these experiences, maturity in prefrontal cortex and emygdala occur rapidly, which also play an important role in controlling emotions in adolescence.
As per the researches, "If you grow up in a stressful environment, it is useful to grow faster than the evolutionary perspective. However, it prevents the brain from being adjusted in the current environment in a convenient manner".
Researchers said that, on the contrary, if the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex region of the brain becomes mature in adolescence, due to the stress caused by peers in later life, such as in later years of life.

"The strong effect of stress on the brain is that it increases the risk of developing anti-social symptoms".
This study has been published in the journal ‘Scientific Reports’.
Researchers were surprised to know that later in life social stress becomes the cause of slow maturation during adolescence.
"Unfortunately, in this study, we certainly cannot say that stress is the cause of these effects. However, by experimenting on animals, we can estimate that this is actually the cause of stress".
