Doctor’s Day celebrated in People’s University

Doctor’s day Celebration held in auditorium of People’s University in the honor of doctors. People’s Medical College students along with doctors made this event memorable by their dancing singing and realistic stage play. Special Presence of Trustee and Director People’s Group Megha Vijaywargia, Director Planning Retd.Colonel Ashok Khurana, Director Acedemic Dr. V.K.Pandya, Registrar People’s University Dr. Neeraja Mallick, Medical Director Dr. Ashok Mashke, Dean People’s College Dr. Sadavarte, Addl. Medical Dir. Dr. R.C.Agrawal, Dean People’s College of Dental Sciences Dr. Shaji Thomas, Dean People’s Dental Academy Dr. Sukmit Narang made this event graceful. 
  
People’s Hospital’s medicine department HOD Dr. C.C.Chaubal sung melodious “Dilbar mere kab tak mujhe” song from movie “satte pe satta”. After this HOD, PCMS Community Medicine Dr. Anil Dixit sung melodious songs of legend Kishor Kumar. Dr. Ashutosh Patel, Dr. Hemant Chaurasia and Dr. Vaibhav Srivastava also sung melodies. Interns of People’s Dental Academy presented solo dance to entertain audience.    



A group play was also presented by students of medical college based on the doctor patient relations and differences due to commercialisation of medical profession. Message of this play was though doctors are treated like god but sometimes they face violent attacks during practice whereas cases of carelessness by doctors also seen occasionally. The relation of doctor and patient should be more strong and full of understanding.

In India, National Doctors' Day is celebrated on July 1 all across the country. First Doctors' Day was held in 1991 as a mark of respect to Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, the most famous physician of India. Dr Roy was honoured with the country's highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’ on February 4, 1961.
