Anger in the country on minor girl child rape

JULY 03 (WTN) - Incidents of rape are rapidly being increased in the country especially in Madhya Pradesh. The whole country is ‘angry’ on the rape with minor girls in Mandsaur and Satna in Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court on the growing incidents of rape against girl child. In his letter, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has requested to the Chief Justice that a fast track court should be set up to hear the case of rape with minor girl (under 12), which would lead to early hearing of the crime.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, in a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Deepak Misra, has requested him that the rape case hearing should be on the basis of priority. Early hearing in the rape case gives relief to the rape victim suffering from mental anguish and early hearing sets an example in the society that the accused will be punished at the earliest.

Chief Minister Chauhan wrote in the letter, "The girls are called Goddess. There is an atmosphere of resentment in the country after some heinous incidents of rape. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to provide punishment of the execution for the culprits of rape with minor girls, less than 12 years of age."

For your information, let you know that on November 26, 2017, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet passed a historic proposal for the case of rape with girls below 12 years of age. Under this proposal, there was a provision of death penalty for the culprit of rape with a girl child under 12 years of age. Madhya Pradesh has become first state in the country to make stringent law in rape case with girls below 12 years of age.
