A gift to Madhya Pradesh farmers from Modi government, steep rise in minimum support price of soybean

Modi government's efforts to ‘please’ farmers

JULY 04 (WTN) - Keeping in view the assembly elections in some states to be held after few months, and Lok Sabha election scheduled next year, the Modi government has started trying to ‘please’ the farmers. Considering the importance of the votes of the farmers, the central cabinet has approved to increase the minimum support price of Kharif crops.

For your information, let you know that in the general budget, finance minister Arun Jaitley had announced to give minimum support price one and a half times the cost of Kharif crops to farmers. It is being said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kept a ‘special eye’ on this issue related to farmers. Therefore, today the central cabinet has approved to increase the minimum support price of Kharif crops.

According to information received from the media, the minimum support price of paddy has been increased by Rs.200 per quintal. The support price of paddy has been increased from 1550 to 1750 rupees. The minimum support price of maize has been increased from Rs.1425 to Rs.1700. Similarly, the minimum support price of yellow lentil has been increased from Rs.5450 to Rs.5675. At the same time, farmers will get Rs.5600 per quintal instead of 5,400 rupees for black pea.

According to the decision of the central cabinet, the minimum support price of the mecca has been increased from Rs.1700-1725 to Rs.2430. Ragi's new support price will be Rs.2897. Farmers will get Rs.6975 per quintal for green lentil. For your information, let you know that the support price of green lentil is currently Rs.5575 rupees. The support price of soybean has been increased from Rs.3050 to Rs.3399.

The minimum support price of sesame has been increased from Rs.5300 to Rs.6249, while for the sunflower seeds, farmers will get Rs.5388, at present it is worth Rs.4100. The minimum support price of groundnut has been increased from Rs.4450 rupees to Rs.4890 rupees. 

It is believed that this decision of the Modi Government will directly show the impact of many states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, the number of farmers in these states is high and also the Lok Sabha seats as well.
