27 lakh 80 thousand beneficiaries registered under Saral Bijli and Bill Waiver scheme

Bhopal: Around 27 lakh 79 thousand 631 beneficiaries have been registered under Saral Bijli Bill and Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme implemented from July 1 for registered labourers under Mukhyamantri Jan Kalayan (Sambal) Scheme. Among them, 10 lakh 69 thousand 711 in Saral Bijli Bill Scheme and 17 lakh 9 lakh 920 consumers under Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme have been registered so far. Camps are being held across the state for registration of beneficiaries.

3 lakh 96 thousand 261 beneficiaries have been registered under Saral Bijli Bill scheme and 8 lakh 9 thousand 521 electricity consumers under Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme have got registered in camps held in Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa region of eastern region power distribution company. In the central region power distribution company, one lakh 79 thousand 721 under Saral Bijli Bill and three lakh 37 thousand 265 beneficiaries under Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme have already got registered in camps Bhopal and Gwalior regions.4 lakh 93 thousand under 729 Saral Bijli Bill and Five lakh 63 thousand 134 consumers under Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme have been registered in camps in Indore and Ujjain region  of Western Region Power Distribution Company.

There is no last date for participating in Saral Bijli Bill scheme. Action will continue to provide benefit to beneficiaries at distribution centres. Bill amount will be calculated on the basis of electricity consumption mentioned in the metre where they are installed. Bill amount will be calculated on the rate decided electricity regulatory commission on unmetered connections in rural areas. Consumers will have to pay only Rs 200 per month, remaining amoung will be subsidised by the government. Eligible families will be given free electricity connection facility without charge for connection. Beneficiary will get benefit only for being a consumer. The eligibility for benefit wil be given in case of member of the family or residing with them. Family member will be considered the one who is recorded in Samgra database. Facility for name transfer will be on the demand of consumer on stamp of Rs 500. Consumers having air conditioner, heater, and more then one thousand consumption will not get benefit under the scheme. This facility will be given only for one bulb, fan and TV in rural and urban areas. Four bulbs, two fans and one TV and one cooler will be functioned in one thousand watt.

The beneficiary will have to apply in the prescribed form to center or zone of power distribution company or in camp to be held for it. Only labourer registration number will have to be given in application. No charge will be taken for participating in the scheme. There will be mention of payment of Rs 200 maximum in eligible beneficiary's electricity bill of July payable in August after scrutiny in the application. Amount to be paid by consumer and subsidy of the government will be mentioned in the bill.

Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme

The action to provide relief to registered labourers and BPL consumers is continuing at distribution centres under Chief Minister's Power Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme. Total outstanding amount as per the status till June 2018 will be waived off. It includes outstanding amount and surcharge. The benefit will be provided to consumer for being a relative or living with registered labourer. The person will be considered as a family member whose name is mentioned in Samgra database. The benefit will be provided in cases under court consideration, and filed under section 126, 135 and 138 of Electricity Act. Consumers who already got benefit under previous Samadhan scheme will take benefit under the scheme.

The beneficiary will have to apply in the prescribed form at distribution center or zone or in camps. The consumer will have to give only labourer registration number or BPL card number. After scrutiny of application, the beneficiaries will be given a certificate of bill waiver.-Window to News
