New Delhi July 9 (IANS) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday extended till July end the extra classes running in state government schools under Mission Buniyaad for students of Classes 3 to 9.
The scheme which was launched in April had about 52 per cent (4.21 lakh) students in Classes 3 to 9 as the target group.

Overall before the campaign about 48 per cent students in Classes 3 to 9 of Delhi government schools could read their textbook now it is 63 per cent " Sisodia who also holds the Education portfolio told media while speaking about the impact of Mission Buniyaad .
"Similarly the ability to solve division has gone up from 54 per cent to 71 per cent. The Education Department has decided to extend the Mission Buniyaad activities till the end of July so that more children can read their books fluently and have good number sense " he added.
Delhi government s emphasis on strong foundational learning skills along with the rollout of Happiness Curriculum will go a long way in unleashing the real and full potential of children in our schools Sisodia said.
