July 10 (WTN) - There are some principles of Ayurvedic food culture to be followed while having your meals. For instance, the food should be served in such a way that makes the amicable and pleasant atmosphere while having your meals. Never take meals in the state of mental stress or emotional inhibition.

Before starting the meal, be mentally prepared and have your meal with patience and with peace in your mind. First look at the meal and wish that the five elements of food will provide you balancing, strength and good health.

Do not eat food rapidly. Do not talk while eating food. Drink water after one hour of meal. The best variety of drinks should be taken only in small quantities along with meals. Do not have juice or milk with food.

Always prefer food in liquid form (Vegetables with thin gravy). Do not eat any junk food before and after meal. When the food previously eaten is in the process of digestion, do not eat anything else since it reacts like toxic. According to Ayurveda, you should have two-third of food of your full appetite. Do not take a bath or exercise immediately after meals.
