Islamabad July 13 (IANS) A Pakistani political leader was among 19 people killed in two bomb blasts in Balochistan s Mastung district and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday.
Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate Nawabzada Siraj Raisani was killed along with 14 others in the explosion targeted at his election rally in the Darengarh area of Mastung. At least 25 people were injured Geo News reported.
Raisani a candidate of the recently-formed BAP from PB-35 constituency is the younger brother of former Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani.
Earlier in the day a blast targeted former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani s convoy in Bannu. While Durrani remained safe four people were killed and 32 injured in the attack.
The former Chief Minister who was returning from an election rally near North Waziristan was unaffected by the remote controlled blast Dawn online reported. He is contesting the July 25 general election on NA-35 (Bannu) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) ticket.
On Thursday night two people were injured in a blast near BAP s election office in Khuzdar.
Earlier this week a suicide blast had killed Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour and 19 others in Peshawar s Yaktoot area.
The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which had also claimed responsibility for 2012 attack that killed Haroon s father Bashir Bilour.
Before that on July 7 seven people including a candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal were injured when a convoy came under a bomb attack in Bannu.
There was also an attack on PTI candidate s office in North Waziristan s Razmak tehsil that had injured 10.
