The phase of the moon determines the Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha

AUG 12 (WTN) - According to the Hindu calendar, it is 12 months in a year. After every three years later there is 13 months in a year. The date of each month is called ‘tithi’. According to the Hindu calendar, the duration of the ‘tithi’ can be from 19 to 24 hours. It is also believed that there are thirty days in every month in the Hindu Panchang. These days are calculated according to the movement of the moon.

In the Hindu calendar, you have heard many times about Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. In fact, on the basis of more or less of the Moon's phase, Hindu month is divided into two Paksha (part). These Paksha (Parts) are called the Krishna Paksha and the Shukla Paksha.

First know about the Krishna Paksha. The middle part of the full moon and the new moon is called the Krishna Paksha. From the very next day of the full moon, the Krishna Paksha is considered to start; this Paksha has approximately 15 days. It is believed that one should not do any auspicious work in Krishna Paksha. There are many arguments behind not doing any good work. As the moon decreases after the full moon, that is, when the phases of the moon get less so the power of the moon weakens. Along with this, the night is dark due to the decrease in the size of the moon. For this reason, Krishna Paksha is not considered auspicious.

Let us now know about the Shukla Paksha. The interval between the new moon and the full moon is called the Shukla side. Approximately 15 days after the new moon, come to this Paksha (side). From the very next day of the new moon, the moon begins to grow, or it may be said that the phase of the moon also grow. By doing so, the moon gets bigger and the night does not remain dark, but it shines with the light of the moon.

During this, the lunar force is strong and this is the reason why this aspect is considered to be the best in Hindu calendar for doing any good work. Any new work is started in the Shukla party only.
