Kamal Nath targets on Shivraj Singh Chauhan over bad roads

AUG 31 (WTN) – Nowadays politics on the roads of Madhya Pradesh is continue. You will remember that a few months back, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had said after returning from the US that the roads in Madhya Pradesh are better than the US. After his statement, the opposition targeted him. The Congress has alleged that the roads in Madhya Pradesh are in 'worse' condition during the BJP rule.

For your information, let you know that according to a recently released report, Madhya Pradesh is one of the first three states in case of death due to bad roads. In this report, UP is at the first place and Maharashtra is in second place. Seeing the opportunity of politics in the election year, once again, Congress has taunted on the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, regarding the 'bad roads' of Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath has written in a tweet while targeting on Shivraj Singh Chauhan, "In the top 3 states of the country, in the deaths due to potholes in the roads. Even before this, it has been confirmed in the report submitted to the Rajya Sabha of the Road Transport Ministry in 2015. But don’t know when Shivraj ji would leave the rush to tell the streets of the state better than the US."

For your information, let you know that the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court takes the casualties due to bad roads and their deaths with 'very serious'. According to information received from the media, from the year 2013 to 2017, a total of 1,385 people died in Madhya Pradesh due to the potholes in the roads. Showing the ‘strictness’ on this, the committee has summoned the chief secretaries of PWD, Transport and Urban body department on September 4 to Delhi.

In Delhi, these officers will present before the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court and will keep 'their side' about the rough condition of the roads. Simultaneously, they will give presentation about what efforts can be made to reduce road accidents.

As in Madhya Pradesh, assembly elections are coming near; political parties are targeting each other. The issue of bad roads is looking to be one of the main issues in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. It is said that on the issue of 'bad roads', Congress had lost elections in 2003; now the Congress is making countermove against BJP on 'bad roads'. The BJP claims that the roads are quite 'better' in its governance than in Congress. It is interesting to see on whose promise, people of Madhya Pradesh will believe.
