Idol making training at EPCO from September 10

Bhopal: Environment Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO) will impart training in sculpting Ganesha idols from clay to the general public at, Paryavaran Parisar, E-5, Arera Colony on September 10, 11 and 12 from 3 to 6 pm. The participants can take the idols created by them during the training back home.

Chief Engineer EPCO Anup Shrivastava told that the training is being imparted under the Green Ganesh Campaign. The objective of the campaign is to make eco-friendly idols available free-of-cost during Ganesh Utsav. The trainees are being inspired to carry out the idol immersion at home. The efforts taken under the Green Ganesh Campaign in the previous years have reduced the effects of pollution.

Immersion of P.O.P. statues and dissolution of toxic chemicals in the reservoirs, rivers, ponds etc. causes significant damage to the aquatic organisms and vegetation. The person who consumes this water is also exposed to the threat of diseases of the heart, lungs, liver and cancer.-Window To News
