Electricity cases against registered labourers, karmakars and farmers to be withdrawn

Bhopal: Cases pending in court under various sections of the Electricity Act against the registered labourers of Sambal Yojana along with Karmakars registered under the Bhavan evam anya Sannirman Karmakar Kalyan Mandal Portal and farmers are being withdrawn in the Lok Adalats to be held on September 8. The Department of Energy has appealed to the registered labourers, karmakars and farmers, who could not attend the previous Lok Adalat to attend the lok adalat being held on Saturday.

It may be noted that on the initiative of the state government, special Lok Adalats were organised all over the state on August 25 for withdrawal of cases. But those consumers who could not attend the special lok adalat on August 25 have been appealed to attend the lok adalat to be held on September 8. This will enable withdrawal of electricity cases registered against them.

The process of withdrawal of cases registered under Section 135 and 138 of Electricity Act-2003 against labourers, karmakars and farmers is being undertaken in the Lok Adalats. While waiving the full amount of interest, 50 percent rebate on the outstanding amount of civil liabilities will also be given by the power distribution companies. The remaining 50 percent amount of civil liability will be borne by the state government in line with the Mukhya Mantri Baqaya Bijli Bill Maafi Scheme-2018. The beneficiaries have been notified that the process of withdrawal of cases will be undertaken in their presence only, hence it is necessary for them to attend the lok adalat.-Window To News
