Onion - 250g (chopped)
Tomatoes - 150 grams (chopped)
Ginger - 1 inch (finely chopped)
Garlic - 4 buds (finely chopped)
Oil- 50 ml
Piece of cinnamon - 1 inch
Cardamom - 4
Green Chilli - 10 grams (chopped)
Cumin powder - 1½ tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - 2 tsp
Fenugreek leaves - 125 grams (chopped and boiled)
Garam masala- ½ teaspoon
Salt to taste
First heat oil in a pan and fry it with cloves, cinnamon slice and cardamoms. Add onion and fry until it becomes golden brown. Now add the chopped garlic ginger and fry it.
Then add tomatoes and green chillies and cook for some time.
After this, add cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and fry until the spices do not leave oil.
Now add chicken and fry for 5-10 minutes. After this, pour water into it and cook till the chicken become soften.
After cooking the chicken, add fenugreek leaves, garam masala and salt to taste and cook for 5-6 minutes on low flame.
Your methi chicken is ready. Serve it with roti or naan.
