SEP 13 (WTN) - You have heard many times about both ICU and CCU. Both words are related to medical and hospital. But, do you know the difference between these two is? If you do not know, then we tell you, what is the difference between ICU and CCU?

What is ICU?

The full name of the ICU is the Intensive Care Unit. The patients, who are seriously injured in a road accident, have been operated or who are seriously ill while they need oxygen, are admitted in ICU.

The same patients are kept in the ICU, which requires continuous care. Here, from time to time on the basis of the condition of the patient, decisions are taken promptly to give further treatment to patient, so that patient’s condition can be normalized.

What is CCU?

The full name of the CCU is the Coronary Care Unit. Here, cardiac dieses related patients are admitted, or those whose heart-related surgery has been done. Very well trained workers work here, because there is a case related to the patient's direct heart.

Monitoring of patient's health condition in every momentum is done in the CCU, and well-trained staff duty is levied to take immediate decision as soon as the condition worsens.
