Setback for Kamal Nath and the Congress party before Madhya Pradesh assembly elections

OCT 12 (WTN) - Prior to the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, state Congress chief Kamal Nath has been shocked by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has dismissed Kamal Nath's petition in the case of fake voter list. In this case the court clearly states that the voter list will not be reviewed. Not only this, the Supreme Court has dismissed the petition of former Union Minister Sachin Pilot, who has filed a complaint against Rajasthan assembly elections. For your information, let you know that that Congress had accused ‘bogus voters list’ in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and demanded CBI inquiry into the matter.

The Congress had appealed to the Supreme Court that the Election Commission should be directed to issue the electoral roll in the MS Word file instead of the PDF format in Madhya Pradesh. Congress also demanded that Random VVPAT verification should be done. The Congress's appeal was strongly opposed by the Election Commission of India.

On the petition filed by Kamal Nath in this case, the Election Commission had said in the Supreme Court that the list of 13 voters was not given to the Commission. On this, the Supreme Court had asked that the photo was incorrect in the list or that the voters were fraud. According to Kamal Nath's lawyer Kapil Sibal, “The EC didn’t reply to this question asked by the Supreme Court.”

At the same time, the Election Commission had said in the court that the first voter list was drafted in January this year which was later modified in May. The Election Commission said that the voter list has been fixed and the Congress wants a decision from the court on its behalf. The Congress had objected to the Election Commission's objection saying how the Election Commission can say that there should be action against us, while the Election Commission itself has given this list.

On the other hand, Kamal Nath had petitioned that 10 percent polling booths should be conducted in a surprise test of VVPAT in the assembly elections. On which EC had said that VVPAT will remain on all booths, but it is the Election Commission's right to look after where there should be a surprise inspection.

For your information, let you know that before this, the Election Commission had charged Kamal Nath with fictitious documents in court and tried to take the order of his side. The Election Commission had said that this is a criminal offense under Section 193 of the IPC, which may extend to seven years of imprisonment.

The EC had objected to the document given by Kamal Nath, saying that this document says that 17 women of the same name are registered in the voters' list, taken from a private website, investigated and found photos from the electoral roll and found that all women with the same name are different and they are the actual voters. In this case, Kamal Nath opposed the allegations and he said that he has not given the fake documents and documents given by him are public.

Ultimately, the Supreme Court has dismissed Kamal Nath's petition, after which the state of the statements in the politics of Madhya Pradesh is going to be started. In fact, after losing badly in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress had to face tough defeat in the assembly elections in many states. After that time Congress had accused BJP for hacking EVM’s, but Kamal Nath and Sachin Pilot directly questioned the functioning of the Election Commission, after which the Election Commission had cleared that it would get some privilege from the Constitution. Congress leaders cann’t comment on them.

By periodically questioning on the functioning of the Election Commission, the Congress has reduced the credibility of itself. The Election Commission is a constitutional body and there is no interference of any political party in its work. In the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, the BJP will now face loud noise that Kamal Nath had misconstrued the Election Commission, which led to questions arising on the functioning of an institution like the Election Commission.

Now when Kamal Nath will go in the public, he will have to answer the question that on which basis he was accusing the Election Commission. Was there the danger of losing for the Congress in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections? So Congress was looking for an excuse. A few days ago Congress-backed news website National Herald had also published a survey saying that Congress may lose in Madhya Pradesh. It is not that in view of possible defeat, Congress has already prepared a charge of mess in the voter list so that it can be defended after defeat
