New therapies related with heart attack, brain stroke, diabetes and bariatric surgery to be discussed
Bhopal, Oct 12 (WTN): Two days ‘16th national conference on heart and diabetes’ will be held on 13th and 14th October, 2018 at Hotel Courtyard by Marriott. Renowned cardiologists, diabetologists, physicians, ECG and critical care experts from across India will participate in the conference. Dr. Balram, director general, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi will formally inaugurate the conference. It will be presided over by bariatric surgeon from New Delhi Dr. Pradeep Chaube. Amrita Singh, New Delhi will be special guest of the inaugural ceremony.
Conference organising committee chairman Dr. P.C. Manoria and executive secretary Dr. Pankaj Manoria informed this at a press conference organised here on Friday. They said the amalgam of cardiology, diabetology, electrocardiology, echocardiography and critical care constitutes the greatest need for physicians, diabetologists and cardiologists. Therefore experts from these areas are invited to exchange valuable knowledge with each other.
Dr. P.C. Manoria said the conference will have detailed sessions on heart attack, stroke (brain stroke or paralysis), obesity and PET CT. He said most people are not aware that if a brain stroke patient is admitted to the hospital within 4-5 hours of stroke and he or she can be cured if certain anti clotting medicines are given in time.
Dr. Pankaj Manoria said the conference will also discuss new therapies to treat heart failure. It will also discuss laser therapy in the treatment of veins related diseases. A session on geriatric patients is also on the agenda. Experts will also share knowledge on new guidelines and medicines for high blood pressure. A quiz contest and an interactive session on ECG will also be organised. As many as 70 research papers will also be presented during the conference. Best three papers will be awarded by the jury.
