BJP defeats Congress in last three assembly elections

23 OCT (WTN) - After the formation of the Chhattisgarh state, the BJP has won only in all the three assembly elections held in the Madhya Pradesh. In the assembly elections in the year 2003, 2008 and 2013, the BJP badly defeated the Congress and formed the government with a full majority. Let’s tell you how much of vote’s difference there was between in the BJP and the Congress in the last three elections and how it changed in the seats.

In the assembly elections of 2003, BJP won 173 out of 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh and Congress won only in 38 seats. The BJP had contested in all 230 seats and got 1,08,36,807 votes, while the Congress contested in 229 seats and got 80,59,414 votes. In this way there was a huge difference of 27,77,393 votes between the BJP and the Congress which led to the BJP winning more 135 seats in the 2003 assembly elections.

In the 2008 assembly elections, the main contest was between the BJP and the Congress. In this election, the BJP contested in 228 seats and won 143 seats. BJP got total 94,93,641 votes in all 228 seats. At the same time, Congress had won 228 seats but it could win only in 71 seats and got 81,70,318 votes.

In this way, BJP got 13,23,323 votes more than the Congress in this election, on which the BJP managed to win 72 seats more than Congress.

In the last assembly elections that held in 2013, once again the BJP had badly defeated the Congress. In the last assembly elections, the BJP had contested in 230 seats and won 165 seats. BJP got 1,51,91,335 votes in this election. At the same time, Congress had contested in 229 seats in the 2013 assembly elections and it could win only 58 seats.

Congress could get 1,23,15,253 votes in the 2013 assembly elections. In this way, in the last assembly elections, the BJP got 28,76,082 votes more than the Congress, on which the BJP got 107 seats more than the Congress.
