Democracy Grows Stronger with Everyone’s Participation

Seventh National Voters’ Day Concluded 
New 13.15 Lakh Voters added in One year in State 

Chief Secretary  Basant Pratap Singh administered a pledge at a state level programme on the occasion of Voters’ day today.  Singh honoured the Officers and Employees for their remarkable works in the election and for preparing the voter cards in the programme organized at Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School, Bhopal. He also distributed the photo voter I.D. cards to 11 new young voters. Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Salina Singh, Divisional Commissioner  Ajatshatru, State Icon Padam  Prahlad Singh Tipaniya and Film Actor  Rajeev Verma were present in the programme.

Chief Secretary  Singh awarded Collector Balghat  Bharat Yadav, Collector Damoh  niwas Sharma, Collector Jhabua  Ashish Saxena, Collector Agar-Malwa  D.V. Singh, Collector Katni  Vishesh Gadhpale, CEOs of Jila Panchayats Dr. Vijay Kumar- Mandla,  Prabal Sipaha–Dewas, Rani Batad-Mandsaur and to  K.V.S. Chowdhary of Kolsani for their remarkable works as per the prescribed standard in the election field. Beside this Deputy District Election Officer, Election Registration Officer, Assistant Nodal Officer and Officers of the associate departments were honoured.  Singh through the real incident of Allahabad University inspired the voters to take decision vigilantly and with awareness in elections.

Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Salina Singh said that the Voters Day is based on the theme ‘Yuva Evam Bhavi Matdataon ka Sashaktikaran’ this year. Out of 8.10 crore population of the State, 4. 99 crore population is registered as voter. Last year 13.15 lakh voters have been added. Number of new women voters is more in 45 districts. She said that beside availability of dummy ballot paper in brail language, necessary arrangements to help handicapped persons have been made.

Commissioner  Ajatshatru vastava read out the message of the Chief Election Commissioner of India Dr. Naseem Zaidi. Aims and Commitment of the Commission in message like ‘Koi Bhi Matdata Na Chhoote Aur Pratyaek Vote Qeemti Hai’, free, fair, peaceful and transparent election was repeated. Padam Folk Singer  Prahlad Singh Tipaniya presented ‘Jaag Matdata Jaag’ on the occasion.  Rajeev Verma gave message of ‘Participation of all in election process makes democracy stronger’. Students and youths in large number attended the programme.
