Handicapped to operate 'Saksham' polling booth, women's to control 'All-Woman booth'!

NOV 27 (WTN) - For the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2018, the voting is going to be held on November 28. For this, the Election Commission has prepared all the preparations for the voting, due to which voting can be done smoothly. Election Commission has taken new initiatives like VVPAT and All Woman booth in Madhya Pradesh for voting. In addition to this, the Election Commission has initiated such as the 'Saksham’ pooling booth for the handicapped in this election, which is a very commendable work in itself.

In the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election, the name of the unique initiative taken for the handicapped by the Election Commission has been named 'Saksham’. For your information, let you know that 'Saksham' is a new and commendable initiative being started by the Election Commission of India, which is being started from Madhya Pradesh. Although earlier, Election Commission has initiated such steps for the handicapped people in Assembly elections in many states, but this effort is being made for handicapped and women is unique.

For the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2018, the Election Commission has created 187 'Saksham' polling booths across the state. The characteristic of these ‘Saksham’ polling booths is that these polling stations will be run by the handicapped officers and employees. In order to operate the 'Saksham' polling booth, their consent was immediately received after that handicapped officers and employees have been appointed in electoral duty.

According to the Election Commission, it is their best effort that on the 'Saksham' polling booth, there should never be shortage of any basic amenities to the handicapped officers and employees. Most 18 'Saksham' polling booths in Madhya Pradesh are made in Gwalior district and 16 'Saksham’ polling booths are built in Shajapur district.

Not only that, political parties are also urging to the help of handicapped officials and employees on 'Saksham' polling booths that it is possible, then deploy their booth level agents (BLA) handicapped only.

Each poling party where handicapped officers and employees will be posted on 'Saksham' polling booths, two-to-four general class employees will be send to help them. These two-to-four general class employees will help in picking EVMs and VVPATs and other materials. There will be special vehicle arrangements for the handicapped officers and employees to pick and drop on 'Saksham' polling booths so that they don’t have to walk on foot.

In addition to the 'Saksham' polling booth, there will be 'All Women Booths' have also been created for women in Assembly elections. According to the information, at least one 'All Woman booth' should be constructed in each Assembly area. 'All women booths' are booths where women officers and employees have been deployed in election duty. For your information, let you know that nearly 500 'all women booths' to be worked for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
