All polling stations turned into Adarsh polling stations: Atmosphere festive

Bhopal: Several activities were conducted to make voters aware in the SVEEP plan in the Assembly elections-2018 in Narsinghpur district, on the instructions of the Election Commission of India. All 1012 polling stations were made Adarsh polling stations in the four Assembly constituencies of the district. As many as 40 Pink Booths were made to inspire women voters to vote. The special thing was that all the polling booths had women workers. In order to motivate the disabled voters of the district, one polling booth in every assembly constituency was made Sugamya polling station in which all the polling staff were disabled. Sushil Chandra Gupta was made disabled icon for the district.

In all the Adarsh polling stations, arrangements were ensured for shelter, water, seating, women and men's washrooms, smooth power supply, ramps, wheel-chair etc. for voters. Sugamya assistants and Qless assistants were also appointed on the polling booths.

Polling booths of the district were decorated with colourful balloons on the voting day on November 28. Rangoli was made in many polling stations. Wheelchairs was arranged to bring the disabled voters from their houses to the polling station. Boothdoot were appointed to help PWD voters.

Due to voter awareness activities, 1.81 percent more polling was witnessed in the district compared to the last Assembly elections. In the elections of 2013, where 79.52 percent of voters voted, 81.33 percent voters exercised franchise in the 2018 Assembly elections. Voting percentage of women and male voters has also increased this time. Voting percentage of women and male voters has also increased this time. In the 2013 assembly elections, 82.13 percent of male voters and 76.57 percent female voters cast their votes, while in the 2018 Assembly elections 83.59 percent of male voters and 78.83 percent of female voters cast their votes.
