Polling arrangements completed with bonfire, pink booth and web casting

Bhopal: All other arrangements along with various activities were made for fair, transparent and peaceful voting in the Assembly elections 2018 in the district. The district administration set a wonderful example of sensitivity in making the arrangements. Hospital management provided contingent medical supplies as well as medicine kits for vomiting, diarrhoea and emergency conditions to the polling teams.

Owing to the possibility of excessive cold during voting in Mandla and with the district being mostly tribal and forest dominated, the Collector essentially arranged for bonfire in the booths for the polling teams. In the case of gender ratio during the election activities, Mandla district remained top in the state. Here the gender ratio was increased to 1004 from the initial 982 till the last publication. For the first time more than 19 thousand youth were added to the voting list.

In order to give a message of empowerment of women in the Assembly elections, a total of 30 Pink Booths were made in the three Assembly constituencies of the district. Not only were all the necessary arrangements made for women in these booths, but their administrative reins also remained in the hands of women. As many as 12 pink booths were made in Mandla assembly constituency, 10 in Nivas assembly constituency and 8 in Bichiya Assembly constituency.

Three video monitoring rooms have been created for monitoring of polling stations assembly wise. Through these monitoring rooms, the number of voters was also monitored along with the security of polling stations.

Cent percent arrangements were made of electricity, toilets, ramps and wheelchairs for the disabled voters. Giving an example of sensitivity, the administration made arrangements for direct voting for pregnant women, senior citizens and weak which was ensured by government servants present there. In view of the sensitivity, the administration conducted a widespread survey of mobile network in remote areas to ensure webcasting arrangements at total 94 polling stations and got the works of Pragati mobile tower completed on priority basis.

The district administration also launched a mobile app to keep constant contact with all the administrative and police officers. Through e-Mandla mobile app, each voter was provided the facility of information of the road to reach the location of his polling station. This app provided local level services and mobile numbers.
