T.B Association meeting organized at Raj Bhavan

Bhopal: In a meeting organized at the Raj Bhavan on Tuberculosis (T.B.) the Governor Anandiben said that T.B. is no longer an incurable disease and is treatable by consuming regular medicines. World Health Organization has said that this disease will be eradicated by the year 2030. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to free India of T.B. from year 2025. We must all make efforts to achieve this goal within the stipulated time. The Governor said this at a meeting of the T.B. Association organized at the Raj Bhavan today.

Besides the doctors of the Idgah Hills T.B Hospital, nearly twenty representatives of the Institute of Engineering and NGO These took part in the meeting. These institutions adopted almost 180 children and resolved to free them from the disease. Members present in the meeting also gave suggestions. Santosh Agrawal, President of Bhopal Utsav Mela Samiti ,offered free service of various swings and other recreational means to T.B. victims and their families at the Bhopal Utsav Mela to be organized from January 1. Apart from this, a health camp was also proposed. It was decided at the meeting that all members will adopt 10-20 children up to 14 years and will take care of them.

It is noteworthy that after taking oath as the Governor of the state, Anandiben Patel first took a meeting of the T.B. Association and had taken the initiative to adopt children. Senior officials of Raj Bhavan including the Governor had adopted five children. Since then, the practice has continued. Ever since, wherever the Governor goes in Madhya Pradesh, she appeals to the administration and the elite citizens there to adopt children. As a result, this work is going on in almost 30 districts of the state like a campaign. The Governor accepts only fruits in place of flowers and gets it distributed among T.B affected children in Anganwadis. All members present at the meeting appreciated this positive initiative of the Governor and assured her of cooperation to the best of their capability.

Members of L.N.C.T. Group, Vaishnavi Group, IPER College, Mittal College, I.E.S. Group, Millenium Group besides Gurunanak Charitable Trust and Adhar Gyan Datri Samiti also gave suggestions during the meeting.-Window To News
