Congress facing challenges' to keep 'dissident' MLAs united

JAN 05 (WTN) - In the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, the people of the state have given a hang mandate that no party has been able to get a full majority. In the assembly elections, Congress won 114 seats and become the single largest party, but Congress could not get full majority and stayed away 2 seats from majority (116), after which Congress had to take support of 4 independents MLA’s as well as two BSP MLAs and one MLA of SP to form the government But away from the majority in Madhya Pradesh, Congress may have to undergo many tests in the coming time.

To say that the Congress had formed a government in Madhya Pradesh, but it is now the biggest test for the Congress to keep united dissident MLAs of its own party as well as independents and BSP-SP MLAs. The first test of Congress will be on the speaker's election. Because in the election of the speaker, the BJP is not in the favor of giving a walk-out to the Congress and it is being said that the BJP will contest its candidate in the election of the speaker.

From the election of speaker to supplementary budget, Congress wants to keep its legislators united and for this, they have arranged for their MLAs to stay in hotels of Bhopal. Having seen the political developments in Karnataka, the cautious Congress is keeping a close eye on its MLAs that whom are meeting whom they are discussing with.

It is being said that the Congress is afraid that the BJP can seduce its MLAs to vote against the government like Karnataka, in such a way that the Congress is taking every step with full vigilance. For your information, let you know that after the formation of Cabinet, there has been dissatisfaction in the Congress MLAs who have not become minster. Many senior party MLAs are said to be angry with not being ministers and they have complained to Rahul Gandhi too.

Here, Mayawati has warned the state government in the case of violence on April 2 in Bharat Band, Mayawati has asked the state government to withdraw false cases registered against BSP workers otherwise she can withdraw the support if her demands would not be fulfilled. After Mayawati's warning, the Congress is worried about Mayawati’s threat.

According to information received from media here, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has alleged that the BJP wants to fall the Congress government of the state. Digvijay Singh has alleged that some BJP legislators are roaming around to buy Congress legislators. But Congress MLAs are not so weak that one can buy them. Digvijay Singh has planted this allegation in a chat with a news channel.

Now it is necessary to see how the Congress can keep united the dissident MLAs of its party and independents. At the same time, you have to see what answer the Congress give to Mayawati’s warnings. It is certain that the BJP is not in a position to give the Congress a walk-over and the BJP will continue to give troubles to Congress till the Lok Sabha elections. That is to say that the time is to come will not be less than any trials for Congress.
