Despite opposition from Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the BJP contests for the Speaker's post

NP Prajapati to be candidate of Congress for Speaker post, Vijay Shah contests form BJP

JAN 07 (WTN) - After the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh the political turmoil continues. In the assembly elections no party got a full majority, after which the Congress formed a government in collaboration with the independent MLAs, along with BSP and SP. The BJP is standing as a strong opposition in the form of a challenge every time before the Congress-led government. After with just a few seats remained away from the victory in the assembly elections, the BJP has now started working on the strategy in surrounding the Congress from the beginning.

In this order, the BJP has fielded its candidate for the post of Speaker. The BJP, which enjoys the power for 15 years in Madhya Pradesh, has won 109 seats in the assembly elections. Of the 116 seats required for the majority in the state, the BJP has seven seats less than the majority, while the 5 seats less than the Congress (114).

Even after being reduced in number game the BJP has tried to prove that by contesting the Speaker election it is not in any mood to give Congress a walkover in any way. Under the strategy of pressurizing the Congress which is leading the coalition government, BJP has fielded tribal leader Vijay Shah for the post of Speaker, while Congress has nominated MLA NP Prajapati, MLA from Gotegaon, as Speaker post.

For your information, let you know that NP Producers represents SC category while Vijay Shah represents ST category. Both parties through contesting the SC-ST candidates in the speaker election want to give a message that how both parties are so friendly to this class.

In the assembly elections the Congress had won 114 seats, but it had remained 2 seats away from the majority, after which Congress got support of 4 independents, as well as the support of two BSP MLAs and one MLA of the SP and formed the government. If attention is given to the present situation, then the Congress is seen in a strong position after the alleged solidarity of its legislators and supporting legislators. But even after this, the BJP has contested its candidate for the Speaker's post and tried to give this message to the Congress that BJP is not in the mood to give any walk over to the Congress.

But it is being said that due to the separate opinion of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in the election of the speaker, he has been separate in his own party. According to information received from the media, Shivraj Singh Chauhan's opinion was party should not contest in the speaker election, but later it was decided that the BJP would contest in the speaker election.

Amid the BJP's contesting in the election of the speaker, the Congress is very cautious about fear of horse trading and has kept all its MLAs in a hotel. Former Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Digvijay Singh is in touch with every legislator. In the power dinner given by Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Sunday evening, the arrival of Congress MLAs and supporting MLAs has proved that the Congress-led government is still looking organized.

It is being said that by not including in the cabinet, some legislators of the Congress along with the Independent and BSP-SP MLAs are said to be angry. In such a case, the Kamal Nath government may soon expand its cabinet, in which the angriness of MLAs can be removed by including them in the cabinet. If the Congress gets a single vote lesser in the election of the speaker than 121, it will be proved its strategic failure and it will be proved that any legislator or legislators who is/are angry has rebelled due to not including in the ministry.

But it is being said that after the contesting in the Speaker post, the BJP has suffered a major loss due to that the Congress is not going to give the Deputy Speaker post to the BJP due to the protocol being BJP as the opposition party. If this is happening then it will not be less than any loss for the BJP. Because first and last BJP is not in a position to win the Speaker election and other is that the not getting the post of Deputy Speaker, the BJP will not have any other post than leader of Opposition.
