Ensure smooth communication system in tribal blocks

Tribal Welfare Minister Markam writes letter to UMoS
Bhopal: Tribal Welfare Minister, Omkar Singh Markam has written to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communication and Railway Manoj Sinha to ensure communication system in 89 tribal-dominated blocks of the state. Expressing concern over the ongoing communication system, Shri Markam wrote to the Union Minister of State that the communication system is not smooth in total 22 percent tribal -dominated areas in the state. Due to this reason the benefits of Government of India and State government schemes are not able to reach the beneficiaries on time.
Apprising the Union Minister of State with the situation of communication system in the tribal areas in his letter, Minister Markam has written that there are 12 thousand 559 villages in the 89 tribal-dominated development blocks of the state. Out of these, 11 thousand 984 tribal-dominated villages have 95 percent communication facilities. The remaining 2951 villages do not come under coverage area. In addition to this, apart from there are 9033 villages of 75 percent coverage area, 3,106 villages with 3G in 26 percent area and 5927 villages with 2 G and more in 49 percent area. In addition, 575 villages having zero population has communication system in 5 percent area.
Tribal Welfare Minister, Markam has urged the Union Minister of State to make appropriate communication arrangements so that the beneficiaries of the schemes get the full benefits.-Window To News
