V K Singh assumes charge as new DGP of MP

Bhopal: V K Singh, the new DGP Police of Madhya Pradesh assumed charge at Police Headquarters at Bhopal. Senior IPS officer VK Singh on Wednesday became new Director General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh replacing incumbent Rishi Kumar Shukla.
Singh, an IPS officer of 1984 batch, swapped his position as the Chairman of the MP Police Housing Corporation with Shukla (1983 batch), official sources said
He took over charge from the outgoing DGP RK Shukla who has been posted as Chairman Madhya Pradesh Police Hoising Corporation Bhopal. From a long time this change was awaited both in the political and administrative circles and sources say that Mr Singh is the choice of Chief Minister Kamal Nath and other veteran Congress leaders.
Before taking the charge as DGP, VK Singh took Guard of Honour at Police Headquarters premises. VK Singh has been appointed as new DGP a day before. Outgoing DGP RK Shukla congratulated VK Singh after latter assumed the charge of the office.
VK Singh is considered as an honest and a die-hard police officer of the 1984 IPS batch. He was born on March 26, 1961, in Ghaziabad. He has an an outstanding career graph. He remained SP of districts including Damoh, Bastar, Betul, Ujjain etc. He also served as AIG Selection and Railway, Personnel. He also remained on posts of DIG Accounts and Welfare, DIG Intelligence, IG SAF, IG APTC Indore, IG Jabalpur, IG Balaghat, IG Home Guards Jabalpur, IG CID, IG Complaints etc.-Window To News
