Adopt professionalism in working of Milk Federation

Animal Husbandry Minister Yadav reviews activities of Milk Federation 

Bhopal: Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Lakhan Singh Yadav said that the Milk Federation should adopt professionalism in its functioning. Milk collection should be increased by forming new milk producing societies and new routes in areas where milk is not being collected from the cattle keeper. He mentioned that milk collection in Gwalior division is less than expected. There is a need to pay proper attention in this regard.

Minister Yadav was reviewing the programmes of M.P. State Cooperative Dairy Federation at Mantralaya today. The Additional Chief Secretary Animal Husbandry Manoj Shrivastava, M.D. Milk Federation Aruna Gupta and Director Animal Husbandry besides other officers were present at the meeting.

Minister Yadav stated that milk collection in Gwalior and Jabalpur division is less in comparison to other divisions, therefore it should be increased. It was informed in the meeting that on an average over 10 lakh kilogram milk is being collected daily by the Milk Federation from the milk producers. Vitamin A and D fortified milk has also been produced by the Milk Federation from this month.

In the meeting, facility for high quality production, setting up of advanced laboratories, automation of plants, expansion of cold chain and other issues were also discussed. Also implementation of National Programmes for dairy development in 22 selected districts was reviewed.

Minister Yadav also reviewed programmes and schemes of the Rajya Pashudhan and Kukkut Vikas Nigam.-Window To News
